First Look: High School Musical 3

High School Musical 3: Senior Year, the long-awaited big-screen version of the hit Disney Channel show, isn’t due in theaters until Oct. 24, but we’ve got a first photo from the set to get you through the summer. Here, Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens) and Troy (Zac Efron) celebrate the best night of their lives - prom! - as only East High’s Wildcats can: with a magical musical-dance number. “Vanessa’s definitely the stronger dancer,” Efron, 20, tells PEOPLE. “If I forget the next move, she’ll lead me. We have to help each other, that’s what we do.”
“We’re very focused [as dance partners],” Hudgens, 19, adds. “We want to get it right and we have so much fun together that even if things do get difficult, we still try to churn it out and have fun with it.”
Even though the original cast is unlikely to return for a fourth installment of HSM, Hudgens says she and real-life boyfriend Efron may work together again someday. “No one says it’s the last time,” she says. “Who knows what the future will bring.”

Vanessa’s Lost Ambition

She may be the star of Disney’s High School Musical franchise, but it seems Vanessa Hudgens is keen to get involved in another smash hit series - TV show Lost.
“I’ve watched season one, season two, season three and now I just have to catch up with season four,” she told Extra, adding that if she was offered a guest appearance in the show she’d “be there in a heartbeat”.
Vanessa also discussed her new album Identified, released in the US last month.
“It’s about finding out who I am,” she said. “I think this one’s a lot more me and it has a lot to do with my life and the way things have kind of been going.”
Along with promoting her album and filming High School Musical 3, Vanessa has completed filming an edgier role in new comedy drama film Rock On alongside Lisa Kudrow, likely to be released next year.
“It’s definitely not what people are expecting,” she said.
